At a recent multinational naval exercise in the Pacific Ocean, the F/A-18 Super Hornet showed it’s able to deliver a powerful sting against a potential rival’s warship.
During a tactical training session, known as the Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), an F/A-18 Super Hornet successfully sunk a mini-aircraft carrier – the ex-USS Tarawa.
The display not only showcased the Super Hornet’s vast capabilities, but reinforced confidence in its ability to successfully protect the nation.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet remains the United States Navy’s workhorse multirole fighter, and its capabilities will be essential to U.S. national defense through the mid-2040s.
