Boeing’s next-generation refueling tanker, the KC-46, aced the final civilian test it needed for delivery to the U.S. Air Force.
By earning the FAA’s strict certification for military modified civilian jets, Boeing capped off two years of hard work and moved one giant step closer to delivering an aerial refueler to America’s military pilots.
Once the KC-46 receives its Air Force certification, the Tanker will be set for delivery.
It couldn’t come at a better time for military pilots. America’s fleet of aerial refueling tankers is outdated – many of them date back to the Eisenhower Administration.
And military communities across the country can’t wait!
After more than 3,500 flight hours with more than 3 million pounds of fuel transferred, Boeing is about to deliver the first KC-46 to the military. Stay tuned to Watch U.S. Fly for more information!
